COMMENTS: The owner had been wanting a Rocket III since he was 14 years old.  He purchased this one in 1997 ad rode it until 1999-2000.  It was left in a barn for years without the spark plugs installed.  After this service, he'll be riding it again and bringing back wonderful memories.  The service performed included: Top end engine rebuild with new pistons & rings to repair right cylinder & leaky push rod tubes, clean transmission, primary & crankcase of water, clean & rebuild 3 Amal 626 carburetors, add a carb tickler conversion kit to each of the 3 carbs, replace fuel lines & carburetor intake hoses, and add 2 new fuel valves/petcocks.  Replace kick starter spring, clean & seal inside of fuel tank, replace gas cap & gasket, add fuel tank mounting rubber, new front & rear tires, clean & lube rusty brake linkage, change fluids, install new air filter & 12 volt maintenance free battery, replace front fork seals, oil & gaiters, and replace brake light switch.  Install different center stand, repair broken seat stud, install new Handlebar hi/low switch, add 2 handlebar mirrors, new foot rubbers, clean & wax/buff body work (no paint), polish engine covers, and install air choke assembly which was removed prior to the customer owning the bike. This service took over 42 hours.

Emailed by our customer on July 15, 2011:  "Hi All! I just wanted to say thank you again for a wonderful experience with my BSA restoration. The ride home yesterday was great, with NO problems. I even stopped at the Griffin Tavern in Flint Hill and enjoyed a cold Boddingtons. The video's look great too.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.  Mark
As an aside, My wife was shocked. She thought I had sold the Rocket. When I came ridding up, she was shaking her head NO, then she stopped and looked harder at the bike and asked if it was the same bike. Yes, she was very pleased."
