GASOLINE TANK / FUEL TANK SEALING - Steel & *Fiberglass

* We can clean and seal painted or unpainted vintage gasoline tanks

* We ONLY work on vintage tanks - examples below

* Chromed tanks are accepted on a case by case basis

* We do not accept tanks with internal baffles

2 - 3 gallon vintage gasoline tank sealing starts at $410 (as of Nov 1, 2020)

• 2 hours to thoroughly clean the inside of the tank with our proprietary 
  

cleaning system = $240

• 1 hour to coat the inside of the tank = $120
  

• 1 tank sealing kit = $50-$75, depending on the tank's gallon capacity
  

• Cleaning away rust from underside of gas cap & sealing the area adds $22.50
  

to $45 depending on condition of cap.  New gasket will most likely be required.

• Gasket prices range from $20 to $40 & are subject to availability
  

• In some cases, we have no choice but to Burn a gas tank to remove prior
  

sealer & paint = $240

• * Fiberglass tanks that have had gasoline in them will not be accepted. New
  

fiberglass tanks may require additional labor to seal.

• Additional labor required if tank has been previously sealed/coated. These tanks
  

may not be accepted for sealing.

• Additional labor if repairs, such as pin holes, are required 
  

• Additional parts & labor for larger, modern, or heavily rusted gasoline tanks

Because we don't work on all gas tanks, contact us via email (info@rcycle.com) BEFORE shipping.  

Include digital photos of the gas tank with your email.  When shipping, please include:

• your full name + mailing address

• year/make/model of the bike the gasoline tank is from
  

• $180 non-refundable estimate fee paid via check, PayPal, or call us (540-854-0689) with your credit card info
  

• Additional labor to remove dents, pin hole repairs, paint, clean gas cap, etc. is charged at $120 per hour + supplies
  

• TURN AROUND TIME: 8 WEEKS
  

Sealing the Fuel Tank from a 1978 Yamaha DT 175E

We reseal tanks that are painted or, as in this case, stripped of paint prior to painting.

After - a beautiful, original tank cleaned, inspected, and sealed without any harm to the paint or chrome.

Sealing the Fuel Tank from a 1972 Yamaha RD250

This tank had a perfect & original paint job but a not-so-perfect gas cap gasket, which we replaced.  

The tank had been lined only months before coming to us, but the lining was falling in on itself. 

The previous gas tank lining, which was only a few months old, was falling in on itself because the old rust wasn't removed prior to sealing.  Here's a small piece of the old lining.
